Race Description

The National Hockey League and the Carolina Hurricanes are pleased to present this special event as part of the NHL All Star Weekend. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Kids ‘n Community Foundation. As “The Heart of the Carolina Hurricanes,” the Kids ‘n Community Foundation offers programming assistance and financial funds to assist local area youth organizations.

Since the establishment of the Foundation in 1997, over $8.5 million in cash and in kind services has been awarded to organizations that focus on enhancing the lives of the youth in our community. With the ongoing support of Hurricanes players, staff, and corporate sponsors, the Kids ‘N Community Foundation funds many causes including scholarship programs, youth hockey, educational and literacy efforts, health programs, and the arts.

Course

The race begins and ends on the front lawn of the RBC Center. Parking is available by entering from Blue Ridge Road via West Chase Blvd. or from Trinity Road at Gate 9 at Carter-Finley Stadium or from Edwards Mill Rd.

5K Run /Walk – $25 prior to January 15
5K Run /Walk – $30 beginning January 15
5K Run /Walk – $35 Race Day
100 Yard Kids Dash – $10
100 Yard Kids Dash – -$15 Race Day

Packet Pickup

Registration and Packet Pick Up – Friday, January 28
RBC Center, Edwards Mill Rd. side, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Registration and Packet Pick Up – Saturday, January 29, RBC Center
Edwards Mill Rd. side, 7:00 AM until 8:30 AM

Timing/Awards

Race will be electronically timed, so runners who wish for an official time will need to pick up their timing chip at Registration.

Tshirts

5K runners will receive a long sleeve 100% cotton shirt
Kids Dash runners will receive a short sleeve shirt

We only guarantee shirt sizes to those who register prior January 15. We will order shirts at that time and based on our projections for the total number of runners we anticipate.

Cancellation Policy

In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Director or Race Committee (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available at a location to be determined. Information will be available on ncraces.com and carolinahurricanes.com

Rules / Guidelines

Sorry, but for safety reasons, we do not allow dogs, bicycles, inline skates or any means of transportation other than running, walking or wheelchairs. Running baby strollers are allowed but must have a minimum of 6″ wheels. Race Director reserves the right to reject any entry or to remove any participant from the race course without explanation.
